Profile of
Cristina Minischetti
Four years ago I was
looking for some information about polymer clays on Internet, when accidentally
I discovered Dollshouses and miniatures.
This was a new world for me because at that time this hobby was unknown
in Italy.
From that moment many things have changed: I found other Italian people
interested in Dollshouses on an international mailing list, visited some
fairs and shops in europe and my interest in this hobby has grown.
I've ever been a "craft" person but when I started making miniatures
I was sure this was the right hobby for me.
During these years I tried making everything in miniature: knitting, sewing,
working with wood, paper, making flowers and plants and any kind of accessories.
But among all these, I enjoyed making miniature food more than any other
thing. The food I make is mainly Italian: typical
dishes known all over the world as pasta and cheese.
So at the age of 34 I decided to leave my job (computer teacher for a
big Computer company and free lance) and spend all my day with minis.
I started my miniature business with the name of "Minicris",
selling on the Internet and at shows. Since 2001 I'm an IGMA Artisan in
the category of food.
I really love my job, I've never been so happy when I wake up in the morning,
to start a working day!
