I know that a lot of people come looking
for free knitting patterns from me. I'm sorry that none are written up
and to be honest they wouldn't fit a doll anyway -the requirements for
a mannequin are less stringent than a doll. I am loathe to sell patterns
that may not fulfill other people's expectations, and to give away free
patterns would be unfair on other people who are trying to make a bit
of a living from their own patterns.

Simplicity is often the most
effective.
Variegated Oliver Twist thread
with DMC 80 for the flowers and belt. Sze 20 needles. |
A touch of fantasy here.
A short windblown skirt, borders of leaves round the bodice and
hemline, a twisted belt and a matching shawl add up to an outfit
for a character in a Midsummer Night's dream - or perhaps the colours
are more autumnal? One of the variegated Oliver Twist threads. |

A bright contrast to emphasise
the little crosses on the bodice and the raised ridges on the skirt
and sleeves. Black DMC 80 plus variegated rose coloured Oliver Twist
thread. |
A favourite style - knitted
to replace the pink/blue one above as that was given to a special
lady who approached her 100th birthday. Black and white DMC 80.
Now being reknitted as this one was given to a friend on her 40th
birthday. |

A venture in slip stitch
knitting. Stitch pattern by Roxanna Bartlett. Variegated Oliver
Twist thread plus black DMC 80. |
Cream front with plain back and sleeves with
knotted edgings. DMC 80. Size 20 needles.

Rainbow drops - raised colours
sparkle against a black background. Rainbow YLI thread and DMC 80
black. |
One way to use very thin
threads is to double up two colours for the skirt and cardigan/jacket
and use one of the colours for the bodice. Venne Colcoton 70/2,
size 20 needles. |

Pinkish red lacy top with assymetrical collar.
Very subtle variegated Oliver Twist thread.
This skirt and the next one used the same
variegated thread, but with plain red or blue thread added.
Rayon variegated thread plus 70/2 Venne Colcton.
Size 20 needles

This was a very pleasing
slip stitch pattern meaning that only one colour was used at a time.

The colours make me think
of butterscotch and cream. Slip stitch pattern from The Knitting
Fool site. |

Rockabilly meets Marilyn
Monroe. Own pattern. |
This is one of the rare occasions
where I have knitted someone else's pattern. The pattern can be
found here
Scroll over her picture to see the version on a wooden mannequin.
I edged it in a contrasting colour and used beads to embellish the
scallops. |

This little summery top uses
a stitch by
Annie Maloney. Unfortunately the choice of colour means that
it doesn't show up too well. |
I find that
some of the most 'ho-hum' tops suddenly come to life with a little
skirt. The skirt is made with an Oliver Twist variegated cotton
which gives a lovely tweedy effect.
As usual I cannot get a decent
picture of the cables down the middle, with or without flash, and
no amount of photoshopping helps. |
